How to Strategically Cover Events on Social Media
We've got a TON of local fashion events this month, so I thought I'd give you some tips on event coverage from a social media manager! These tips work if you're...
A business owner trying to make connections
An influencer trying to grow your following
An event host trying to promote your own event
A friend of an event trying to spread the love!
Best practices: Tagging
Use event hashtags (if there are any), tag the location of the event, and tag all relevant accounts in posts and stories.
Post more than just stories
Posting stories is great, but their lifespan is so short! To comprehensively cover an event, try to post on your feed in addition to your story, whether it's a Reel, a video, a carousel, or a one-photo post.
Be creative!
The more unique your content is, the more it will stand out among other posts from the event! For influencers & business owners: If the event host sees your content, you want it to be memorable and shareable. If they share your content to their story, you want it to be eye-catching enough to gain the attention of onlookers.
