2021 vision board & inspiration words

I’ve never been a vision board kind of gal. Honestly, I thought they were a bit cheesy. Visualizing your goals? Eh. I just didn’t get it.

At BaeBlu, employees create a vision boards every December for the following year. I learned about the tradition a few months ago and started getting really excited, so I made a Pinterest board early.

Personally, my vision board is a visual reminder of my goals rather than being the place where I actually visualize me achieving my goals. Some people use vision boards to remind them of set goals that they’d like to achieve—things to check off their to-do lists. I put things on my vision board to help me remember how I want 2021 to feel.

While thinking about what I want next year to look like, I established some goals and put them into categories. I also thought a lot about how I want to feel and what mindset will help me achieve my 2021 goals. Based on that, I found some inspiration words to guide me next year.

  • Happiness (Dawson, my friends, Barney, home life)

  • Dedication (career)

  • Freedom (learning to deal with worry and anxiety)

  • Adventure (hiking, rock climbing, traveling, and other fun stuff)

Strawberry lemonade

While all categories are important, everything comes back to happiness. 2021 is all about making my life what I want it to be and working to be happy. For those reasons, I decided that “strawberry lemonade” would be my key motivating phrase for 2021. Strawberry for me, yellow for happiness.

I’ve already spent a lot of time looking at my vision board. It’s right against the wall on my desk at work, so every time I look up from my computer, I see it and get reminded of all the wonderful things about to happen next year. I can’t tell for sure what my year will look like, but I’m doing to try darn hard to make it as happy as I can.
