Chasing inspiration

Over the last week or so, I’ve realized that it’s important for me to chase inspiration when it strikes.

I’ll have an idea for a blog post that I really love. I’ll even start pondering phrases and images that I’d like to use in the post, maybe make a draft, and tell myself I’ll get back to it later. Well, sometimes, the inspiration never returns for the post, and I’m left with a sad-looking draft on the backend of my website. Like an unused phone contact, I can’t even delete it in case I need it again someday. Yes, I hoard blog drafts. And contacts, but that’s not what we’re talking about here.

Basically, I realized that it’s important for me to start on an idea when I feel inspired to do so. Some of my best work on my website has come from jumping into a plan right when the idea hits me. Any creative will agree: inspiration is the force behind quality work. If you don’t like what you’re doing, it might not come out as well.

To prove my point, I wrote this blog post right when inspiration struck me. I plan to keep it up.
