Here’s Where Your Ideal Local Customers Are Hiding…

“They’re out there, but how do I reach them?”

Social media is beyond helpful in connecting with your target audience, increasing brand awareness among that audience, and even getting business from your ideal customers. Here’s how I do it…

My team and I use these techniques for brands that focus on local customers to help them spread brand awareness in their communities AND engage directly with potential customers.

Tagged locations

The obvious one! People tagging your target locations are usually in those locations. Engaging with them could earn you their business!

Location-based hashtags

It’s not all about location tags! People who use #scottsdalearizona or #dtphx (just 2 examples) are probably in the Valley. Engage with them so they become familiar with your brand.

Alternate location tags when you post

This works well if you’re targeting a whole region, I.e. the Valley of the Sun. When you post, alternate the locations you tag until you can determine which location tag performs best for you. And, the more locations you appear in, the wider range of a local audience you could be reaching.

Key local accounts

You want your brand’s name in as many local places as possible! This includes the comment sections of entities that are known by many local people. Engage with local news sources, media outlets, influencers, celebrities, or official city/location accounts — especially ones in your niche. The other people in the comment sections with you? Probably locals!
