How I stepped up my freelancing game
I’m thrilled to say that with the creation of my social media marketing packages, I’m stepping up my freelancing game! That means…
Reaching out to potential clients
Posting more on my personal social media account
Becoming more real and vulnerable on my social media platforms
Improving my website
I’ve done all of these things for about two weeks now, and I’m seeing the results!
The first effort I made to amp up my freelance life was upgrade my website. I added some more projects to my portfolio and made my homepage a bit easier to navigate.
Next, I posted an organic ad on my Instagram and Facebook stories letting viewers know that I’m accepting new clients and informing them of some of my skills. If you’re curious, here are the stories:
From those Instagram/Facebook Stories, I got two leads!
Then, I began reaching out to brands that I found interesting, inquiring if they were in need of digital marketing help. In the interest of helping freelancers like myself, here’s the process I use…
For now, I’m focusing on Arizona-based brands, so I searched the hashtag #arizonasmallbusiness on Instagram. I chose to do this on my computer rather than my phone, as it’s easier to view multiple accounts quickly on a desktop. I’d Control + Click to open accounts in new tabs, and then look through them to determine which ones I’d be interested in working with. When I selected a brand, I put their brand name, Instagram link, website, contact name, and contact email in a spreadsheet to come back to later. Then, I’d send personalized emails to each brand I wanted to work with, based on what caught my eye about them. (This is very important! If a brand thinks you send the same thing to everyone, they may get turned off.) I got a few leads from this, and I even had a meeting this week with a potential client!
Now, I’m going to continue to post on social media and be more vulnerable (which is actually pretty scary), reach out to brands as much as possible, and keep believing in myself! I know that success isn’t going to happen overnight, but I’m finally ready to put in the work. Wish me luck!
